What is IPL Photo Rejuvenation?

IPL (Instense Pulsed Light) is the most ADVANCED version of photo-rejuvenation and hair removal on the market today. This assures the safest, fastest, most noticeable cost effective results in the shortest possible time span. No down-time after treatment. This unique concept is suitable for all skin types, regardless of age, gender or race and offers permanent results. We use a medical grade IPL machine for treatments such as acne, age spots, blue and red capillary veins, wrinkles, unwanted hair, pigmentation, scars, birthmarks, freckles, rosacea etc.

IPL also stimulates new collagen production which results in more youthful appearance by improving you skin tone and skin texture. During your initial IPL consultation our skin therapist will analyse your skin, provide information about a treatment plan and cost.

IPL is idea for:

  • Face
  • Neck
  • Decolette
  • Hands
  • Or any areas exposed to the sun where tone is no longer even and smooth.

IPL rejuvenation is best done in Autumn -  Winter - Spring because sun exposure is a contraindication for IPL and it’s easier to stay out of the sun during the cooler seasons.   To get the best from the programme you should be extremely careful for a few weeks before and after the treatment, use sunblock and cover up from sun.

The most common area to work on is the face, neck, decollate, back of the hands – those areas most exposed to the sun.  Most clients choose six monthly maintenance, March to September or April to October and a course of five sessions, four weeks apart is often very effective.  Before recommending the best treatment we analyse your skin and discuss your goals (and timeline).  Many of our clients are preparing for a special event such as a family wedding where there will be photographers present and they need to look their best, others are simply keen to keep looking as young as possible.

What is Microtone?

Microtone uses highly-advanced Microcurrent therapy to activate facial muscles to promote skin lifting and tightening, resulting in visible improvements to the appearance of deep wrinkles and skin firmness.
The treatment redraws the contours of the face targeting certain areas, reducing wrinkles. This proven technology is now available in our aesthetic clinic as a painless cosmetic treatment and is commonly referred to as “facial toning” or “the non surgical face lift”.

Benefits:
•    Microtone lifts and strengthens sagging facial muscles
•    Reduction of fine lines and wrinkles
•    Firm facial muscles
•    Improves puffiness around the eye area
•    Contoured face shape
•    Eyebrow lifting

Procedure:
During each 45 minutes treatment session all 32 facial muscles are gently manipulated and re-educated by a trained therapist using a series of precise movements. Soft cotton tipped wands are used on the face to transmit the microcurrent energy to the facial muscles to restore tone and elasticity.
Results are visible after the very first treatment but a course of twelve treatments is generally recommended.

What Is the Dermapen™?

The Dermapen™ is a revolutionary micro-needling device which aims to tighten, lift and rejuvenate skin. The Dermapen™ can visibly improve the appearance of:
•    fine lines
•    wrinkles
•    surgical, acne and trauma scars
•    stretch marks
•    pigmentation
•    ...and much much more!

How Does Micro-needling Work?
The Dermapen 3™ offers unparalleled collagen induction by harnessing the body's innate ability to re-grow and repair the skin as a response to micro-damage. This small, hand-held device delivers up to 1,300 micro punctures per second into the skin, thus stimulating the production of collagen and elastin and normalizing various skin functions.
Dermapen 3™’s controlled precision promotes the three phases of CIT mechanics, thus allowing for new collagen growth to occur.
The first phase begins with the release of the body’s own growth factors, followed by a cascade of new epidermal growth, fibroblast chemo-taxis, fibroblast proliferation, and matrix production.
This proliferation of the body's tissue continues to release growth factors from fibroblasts, keratinocytes and monocytes, culminating in the second phase of CIT mechanics, where production of collagen I, III, and IV, elastin, proteoglycans and glycosoaminoglycans, and the process of angiogenesis occur.

The last phase of CIT and the desired result of a Dermapen™ Treatment is the tissue remodeling process, where the skin’s vascular matrix matures, causing skin to tighten. The body’s ability to remodel and heal itself is at the heart of this amazing product.

Some Frequently Ask Questions regarding Dermapen:
Q: How many treatments are recommended for rejuvenation, acne scarring and stretch marks? (General guide)

A:Rejuvenation: 4-6 treatments, 4 weeks apart
Acne scarring: 6 treatments, 6 weeks apart
Stretch marks: 4-8 treatments, 4-6 weeks apart
Q: Should I prepare my skin before having a Dermapen™ Treatment?

A:For optimal results, a period of effective active treatment creams, such as Vitamin A, C or Resveratrol & Procyanidin is recommended to allow the skin’s strength to build-up (especially for thin or delicate skin areas). Consult your clinician about the recommended DP Dermaceuticals™ Pre- and Post- procedure protocol.
Q: How long should it take before I see results?

A:Typically, you will see results after the first treatment. Lasting and more significant results will occur after 4 to 6 treatments (spaced 4-6 weeks apart). Your skin will continue to improve over the next 6-12 months after a course of treatments and when combined with the recommended post treatment care.
Q: Is the treatment painful?

A:For minimum needle depths Dermapen™ Treatments are painless. Treatments over 0.5mm deep, may require a topical anesthetic cream to be applied for 15-40 minutes before the procedure. This will render the treatments virtually pain free.
Q: Is there any downtime after treatments?

A:Generally no, but you may experience facial redness for 12-48 hours after the treatment. Most people are able to return to normal daily activities immediately after the treatment. Application of a breathable camouflage will seal the skin and cover any redness for an immediate return to work.
Q: How soon after filler injections can I have a Dermapen™ Treatment?

A:It is recommended to wait at least 7 days after filler injections, so that any post treatment bruising from the fillers can settle. It is also possible to have your Dermapen™ Treatment several days before having fillers injected. Consult with your practitioner prior to determine exactly how long a wait is best in each particular case.
Q: How much do the products cost?

A:Please contact us to find out how much Dermapen™ costs in your country.
